Entries Accepted For “We AAM To Serve” Community Service Award Until March 17
March 1, 2017 | FOREST HILL, MD – In an effort to give more firms the opportunity to be recognized for their philanthropic efforts, the deadline to enter to win the “We AAM to Serve” community service award has been extended until March 17. From volunteering their time and energy to donating funds and serving on boards, this “We AAM to Serve” recognizes the good work accounting professionals do in their communities all year long.
Winners will be determined by what the firm did to make a difference as a whole, who was helped and, most importantly, the impact that was made.
“Philanthropy is important to those in the accounting industry, so much so that firms regularly take time throughout the year to support the communities in a variety of ways,” explained Susie Brown, marketing coordinator of Clayton & McKervey and member of AAM’s board of directors. “’We AAM to Serve’ is a way for us to help share the impact firms are making every day.”
Share Your Story To Win
Current AAM members are eligible to enter the “We AAM to Serve” competition. Entries must submit a brief narrative (no more than 1,000 words) detailing your firm’s community service initiatives over the last year – between Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2016. Please include:
- The total number of hours donated/worked by your firm’s employees
- The type(s) of community service initiatives that were conducted as well as the name(s) of the charity(ies) involved.
- The impact your firm’s efforts had on the community
- The total number of employees in your firm
Contestants are also encouraged to support their written submission with up to five photos/videos.
Winners will be chosen in three categories:
- Small firms: 1-99 employees
- Medium firms: 100-499 employees
- Large firms: 500+ employees
The deadline to submit your “We AAM to Serve” entry is Friday, March 17, 2017.
Winners Announced In Las Vegas
Winners will be announced during the annual AAM-MAA Awards Reception, which will take place this year 6:30-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, at the 2017 AAM Summit.
This year, the 2017 AAM Summit will take place in connection with the AICPA’s ENGAGE 2017 event, which is set to bring together more than 4,000 professionals across the accounting industry together June 12-15, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
In addition to the recognition firms will receive for their outstanding efforts during the AAM Summit AAM-MAA Gala, winners will receive a beautiful glass award, exposure on AAM’s social media channels and inclusion in all AAM publications (electronic and print).
