Job Description:

Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, a regional law firm with six offices across 4 states, is currently seeking a Business Development Manager. While the Business Development Manager reports to the Chief Marketing Officer, s/he will work closely with Office Partners-in-Charge and Service Team Leader(s) on key Marketing initiatives and projects to ensure coordination, appropriate leveraging of resources, consistency of approach and effective execution of initiatives. 

The Business Development Manager (Manager) works directly with the Office Partners-in-Charge and Service Team Leaders to acquire new clients and expand current client relationships. The Manager will implement business development strategies, provide hands-on support and will follow through on all business development projects. The Manager will work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer to establish priorities and programs and will coordinate efforts among the attorneys in each offices and across all service teams. The Manager will share best practices between relevant offices and service teams to maximize productivity of marketing efforts.

The Managers responsibilities include the following:
• Partnering Relationships: Develop and implement high-level partnering relationships with business publications, professional organizations, industry associations and educational institutions to identify leadership positions, speaking and conference presentation opportunities and sources of referral for group members. 
• Market Intelligence: Direct the gathering and production of information and materials for business development purposes. Prepare background information on prospective clients. 
• Work directly with Partners on development of supporting materials for business development efforts including practice area brochures, mailing lists and talking points. 
• Target and Lead Generation: Work directly with the Partners to identify, qualify and develop new business leads and prospects. 
• Business Development Support: Implement business development strategies, provide hands-on support and follow through on all business development projects. 
• Proposals: Work with Partners to respond to Requests for Proposals and to prepare proposals to obtain new business. 
• Cross-Selling Initiatives: Provide support for the cross-selling efforts implemented by the Business and Marketing Committee in conjunction with the various Practice Groups and appropriate Responsible Attorneys. 
• Seminars: Work directly with the Partners to develop and implement practice group seminars for clients and prospects. Research opportunities for external seminars where the practice group capabilities could be featured. 
• External Visibility: Identify key publications, organizations and events for which Practice attorneys can author articles, present and participate, respectively, with the goal of increasing media, industry, decision-maker and referral source awareness of the Practice and its attorneys. 
• Work with CMO, Office Partners-in-Charge and Service Team Leaders to identify clients who could benefit from a client team approach and then administer that effort. 

Qualifications:
The Manager should have three or more years of marketing and business development experience in a professional services industry. Experience with law firm marketing is considered a major plus. The Manager should be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to handle a variety of projects that involve tight deadlines. The Manager must be highly organized and possess proven creative abilities and excellent writing skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and analytically. The Manager must be able to work with higher levels of management in the Firm and work well as part of a team. The Manager must exhibit credible personal presence and confidence.

Compensation: 
This position’s compensation will be based on the experience level of the candidate.
