Job Description:

The Regional Marketing & Business Development Coordinator is a non-exempt position in the Marketing & Client Development Department and is responsible for assisting the practices and lawyers in the Birmingham, Mobile and Atlanta market to develop and drive regional marketing and business development strategies in order to maximize client retention and growth.

Responsibilities

Provides support to identify new business opportunities; works to develop new work and cross selling, and assists lawyers and practices in maximizing those opportunities. Has specific responsibility for designated national practices, its teams and attorneys in coordinating local and firm-wide business development efforts. More specifically, the Regional Coordinator is responsible for:

Collaborating with the Marketing Communications team on the development of marketing collateral, including practice brochures, attorney biographies, experience lists, client lists, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations and website content. Ensures quality and consistency of firm’s marketing message, while incorporating style guidelines and attorney preferences. Identifies and compiles information from various sources to create customized business development materials as needed.

Coordinating research for use in identifying business development opportunities, cross-selling and cross-marketing opportunities, industry trends as well as potential client targets.

Utilizing knowledge of firm resources and research on clients and prospects to prepare and produce Request for Proposal responses and pitch materials. Inputting and tracking information in proposal database for future reference by other business development and marketing staff. Evaluating outcomes of business development activities.

Consulting with attorneys to identify individual and practice group business objectives; recommends business development opportunities to achieve those objectives and drafts written business development plans as needed.

Working with Public Relations team to develop PR and media opportunities for attorneys and practices including targeting speaking opportunities and by-line articles. Develops and compiles information to highlight the practice group’s experience and coordinates web site posting of press releases and articles.

Coordinating the execution of client and sponsored events. Managing budgets and providing recommendations and solutions for cost containment. Sources locations and vendors. Organizes development of invitation lists and mailings. Manages details with attorneys, staff and multiple vendors to ensure seamless execution. Arranges follow up with attendees if needed. Analyzes outcome and drafts summary for future reference and planning.

Coordinating the sports ticketing program for specified office venues. Working with the appropriate Office Head and Practice leaders, determines distribution priority and tracks team and client usage. Works with attorneys to enhance the business development opportunities with the tickets by coordinating additional programming, activities or client gifts around these sporting events.

Coordinating the business development portion of the new attorney orientation process, which includes meeting with each new attorney to discuss the business development and marketing department, the services offered and the organization of the department. Introduce the new attorney to the marketing materials available to them and key materials for their practice area. Write biographies for new attorneys and assist with the coordination of the posting of the bio and the headshot to the firm’s website.

Assisting attorneys and professionals with creating and maintaining client mailing lists through the firm’s contact relationship management software.

Some travel required.

Performing special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B S.) from four-year college or university
3-5 years prior experience in Marketing and/or Business Development, preferably in a Law Firm, or other Professional Services entity.
Thorough understanding of MS Suite – Excel and PowerPoint and a working knowledge of Interaction, Adobe Photoshop and other applicable software
Good knowledge of legal practice area(s)
