Job Description:

J. Johnson Executive Search is working on behalf of Sidley to recruit a Director of U.S. Marketing Programs to be based in their Chicago office. This newly created role will support the Firm’s overall strategy by leading U.S. marketing efforts through comprehensive initiatives that position the Firm to attract prospective and maintain current clients. This Director will lead a team of geographically distributed staff that provide marketing expertise and support at both the local and national level.

Key responsibilities include:

• Direct the U.S. marketing programs team to provide a streamlined, consistent and high-quality experience for our internal and external clients – regardless of office location.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen the Firm’s profile and position in key U.S. markets.
• Leverage the Firm’s people, knowledge and resources for maximum impact.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration within the team, across the department and
throughout the Firm.

A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of twelve years of marketing experience with law or professional services firms is required. Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of people management experience. A J.D., MBA, or graduate degree in business is preferred.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to monitor, analyze and report on the impact of marketing initiatives, including ROI. They must also possess leadership skills to be able to manage a high-performing team across various geographies. Candidates who have all of the above experience plus management of specialty groups such as alumni, diversity and pro bono will be given preference.
