Association for Accounting Marketing Announces 2020 Individual Marketing Achievement Award Recipients

June 4, 2020 (Lexington, KY) - The Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM), the leading trade association focused exclusively on marketing and business development for the accounting industry, announced the recipients of its individual Marketing Achievement Awards (MAA) last night during a virtual awards event. The event was attended by over 175 participants, who were encouraged to “dress to impress.” Participants engaged in the event through pictures and videos utilizing the virtual event backdrop, as well as congratulatory remarks and kudos were shared through the chat throughout the evening. 

Individual awards are presented annually in recognition of outstanding achievements in the accounting marketing profession, as well as contributions to AAM. 

Lauren Clemmer and Mitch Reno Inducted into the Association for Accounting Marketing Hall of Fame 

AAM is proud to induct two exceptional professionals into the Hall of Fame. Being inducted into the AAM Hall of Fame is the highest honor in the field of accounting marketing. Inductees must have ten years or more of service and be known for their outstanding accomplishments as leaders of the association. 

Lauren Clemmer, Former Executive Director of AAM and AAM member since 2007, is credited with bringing AAM to where it is today. Formerly the head of marketing for Ciuni & Panichi, Inc., she was named AAM’s Executive Director in June 2015. From working toward achieving our Vision 2020 plan to serving as the face of AAM within in our industry, Lauren has played a critical role in the success of AAM during her tenure as executive director. Lauren broadened AAM’s outreach/networking among AICPA, CPAFMA, industry affiliates, associations and state CPA societies. 

She worked closely with AAM members, committees, and task forces to modernize AAM's operations and technology. Lauren was named to the Accounting Today 100 Most Influential People 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, as well as the one of the Most Powerful Women in Accounting in 2016, from CPA Practice Advisor

Mitch Reno, Principal, Director of Client Experience of Rehman, is regarded as a leader and innovator among accounting marketing professionals, Mitch was named AAM’s Marketer of the year in 2006 and served on the AAM Board of Directors from 2015-2019, playing a leading role in mapping AAM’s 2020 strategic plan. 

Mitch was among the first of several marketing professionals to achieve partner in his firm and was a key player in providing guidance to the industry on forming business development teams and compensation models. More recently, Mitch has been on the leading edge of bringing "customer experience" to the forefront as a strategic initiative (and career path). Widely known as a thought leader, speaker and facilitator, he currently leads AAM’s Major Firms initiative and is acting as a facilitator to assist AAM with its 2025 strategic plan.

Nicola Fleming Named Volunteer of the Year 

AAM's Volunteer of the Year award recognizes dedication to the association, involvement on committees and/or special projects, as well as professional accomplishments. 

As a member of AAM since 2010, Nicola Fleming, Director of Marketing with Perkins and Co., has generously shared her time, talents and professional knowledge as the chair of AAM's 2020 Summit Committee. Her calm spirit and leadership helped AAM navigate through the challenges of COVID-19. She helped keep things on track, offered thoughtful opinions, provided sound counsel and continued to encourage and motivate the Summit committee volunteers. While the decision was made to ultimately cancel the conference, she continues to demonstrate her leadership by volunteering as Chair of Emerge – AAM’s new virtual conference. Most recently, she was nominated to serve on the 2020-2021 AAM Board of Directors. 

Siri Svay Honored as Rookie of the Year

A marketer on the rise demonstrating distinction in the field, the Rookie of the Year shows creativity, initiative and ambition in their firm. 

Siri Svay, Practice Growth Specialist for Pannell Kerr Forster of Texas, P.C. (PKF Texas), made an immediate impact on the firm. Her skillset brought capabilities previously outsourced, notably her video editing. She adapted to her firm’s fast-paced environment and endeared herself not only to the Practice Growth team, but to PKF Texans at all levels, which is critical as her role is responsible for working effectively with all departments and niches at the firm. She was promoted from Associate to Specialist within her first year at the firm. Siri is involved with all marketing aspects - from social media and digital marketing to creating videos and developing niche-specific content. She asks the right questions to develop content and strategically position the firm in the marketplace. Siri joined the Association for Accounting Marketing in 2019 and attended her first Summit during AICPA Engage. She began developing relationships with other marketers across the industry and many remarked how impressed they were not only with her willingness to listen and engage, but with her knowledge of the industry in her short time with the firm.
